Duties

  1. Operate equipment in a safe and proper manner
  2. Maintain cooperative relationships with customers, supervisors and other staff members
  3. Perform all duties in an independent manner with little supervision
  4. Maintain service vehicles, storage areas, and job sites in a neat and orderly manner
  5. Perform assigned projects and work orders in accordance to V.L. quality and safety standards
  6. Communicate with department supervisors and managers regarding project needs, progress, and concerns
  7. Follow all company policies and procedures
  8. Use provided tools and equipment with care
  9. Assist in training and cross-training new or inexperienced employees as directed
  10. Be willing and able to work overtime as requested or required

Requirements

  1. Have and maintain a valid driver’s license in such a manner to be insured by our insurance agent and drive company vehicles when authorized and requested.
  2. Report to work on time each day, after lunch breaks, etc. and not leave early.
  3. Able to lift 80 lbs
  4. Reliable transportation
  5. Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. The majority of the time will be spent in an outside environment where temperatures may range from 20-120 degrees. Hours may vary depending on workloads and weather conditions.
  6. Able to work in a team environment
  7. Walking is required within the production areas. The physical requirements consist of extended periods of standing, bending, and stooping, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, writs, hands, and fingers. Requirements may include standing on ladders and platforms and lifting heavy parts of eighty plus pounds.
  8. Able to work in a team environment
  9. Minimum of 2 years of landscaping installation experience

**Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required

Basic Function
The basic function is to supervise and manage the daily activities for V.L. The Foreman’s basic function is to control the flow of work in and out of the hardscape, softscape, maintenance, lighting, and snow removal service groups. The foreman must ensure that all work is performed to the customer’s reasonable expectations in a successful and profitable manner.

Duties

  1. Maintain cooperative relationships with customers, supervisors and other staff members
  2. Assuring the profitable operation of the company in the field and timely completion of work orders
  3. Assuring compliance with all Federal, State, and local health and safety laws, ordinances, and policies
  4. Perform all duties in an independent manner with the ability to provide supervision to crew members
  5. Assuring customer satisfaction and a high standard of quality including satisfactory and equitable resolution of customer complaints
  6. Assuring scrap and inventory are kept at a minimum
  7. Assuring accurate reporting of time cards, work orders, and paperwork
  8. Follow all company policies and procedures
  9. Use provided tools and equipment with care
  10. Be willing and able to work overtime as requested or required
  11. Assist in training and motivating department employees

Requirements

  6. Able to work in a team environment
  7. A minimum of (2-4) two to four years of landscape installation experience, supervisory position preferred but not required.
  8. Must have the ability to diagnose mechanical problems rapidly and accurately. Must be familiar with the equipment used and operated by V.L. Must stay up to date with changes in the equipment and industry. Must be willing and able to do landscape service and repair project work as well as supervise.
  9. Must have the ability to comprehend basic business math calculations well enough to verify accurate estimating and installation activities
